Getting Set For The Midst Of The Year Divine Visitation- Bishop David Oyedepo

Another midst of the year is here – the months of June and July.

And as we are all aware, the midst of the year is a season of divine visitation ordained for the supernatural breakthroughs of the saints as  a result of the move of God or spiritual awakening in the midst of His people. Heb3:2 – 19.

That is:

  • As we engage in praying for revival, seeking for the kingdom of God, God shall be making known His power in our midst- vs2-4

  • And by His power, everlasting mountains shall be leveled out and perpetual hills scattered, that is, long standing challenges shall be turned into testimonies vs 6

  • And as we maintain our joy in driving the revival, we shall be empowered to ride in our high places. Vs 17 – 19. Furthermore, from the second chapter of the book of Haggai we discover other wonders reserved for us in the midst of the year.

  • The prophet Haggai began with the word of the lord that came to him in the 7th month, and we all know, that the 6th and 7th month of the year constitute the midst of the year with 5 months before and 5 months after . vs 1

  • But to experience these wonders, we must remain strong and work for the lord- vs 4.God shall be shaking the heaven and the earth with diverse manifestations of His vineyard- vs 5 – 6

  • The midst of the year is ordained a season of dramatic turnaround for God’s people – 7 -9, Mal. 3:17 -18

Therefore, we are required to be strong and work for the lord in the midst of the year, which is the key to experiencing the wonders reserved for this season.

But what kind of Work?

It is a 2-fold task!

  1. Prayer and fasting for church growth – matt. 16:18, 17:21, Ps 2:8
  2. Soul winning and fruit-abiding work – Jn 15:16, 4:34-36

Details of this 2-fold task include:

  • Praying the Holy ghost the lord of the harvest to take over the harvest field and draft in multitudes into the church. Matt 10:36
  • Praying against the gates of hell from holding down the people from being saved Lk 11:21- 22
  • Praying down the reaper angels to mobilize souls into the kingdom of God-Matt 13;39, 26:53
  • Praying for impactful word ministry in the services – 2 Thess 3:1
  • Praying for the establishment of new converts in the faith – Gal 4:19, Col.4:12

Reaching out to the lost both in:

  • Personal Evangelism – Jn 15:1-2, 16
  • Church-based outreaches – Jn 4:35-36

We shall therefore be engaging the weapon of prayer and fasting to break the hold of the gates of hell from the lives of all that are ordained for salvation. Lk. 11:21 – 22
